Due to unforeseen medical complications, Bob Evans (also known as Tony King) has been advised by his doctor not to travel at this time. His leg injury is not healing as quickly as hoped, and out of an abundance of caution, all scheduled performances will be postponed until December 2018, 2025.
We are heartbroken by this development, especially after multiple rescheduling this year. Bob is deeply committed to sharing the music of Badfinger and honoring the legacy of its original members—Tom Evans, Mike Gibbins, and most recently Joey Molland, who was the last surviving original member and whose passing has deeply affected us all.
Bob’s greatest wish is to return to the stage and deliver the powerful tribute these legends deserve. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support and understanding during this difficult time.
Warm Regards
Bob Evans/Tony King (Lead Vocalist and lead Guitarist)
Breaking Bad world tour 2025-26 featuring all members of Badfinger who have worked with the Beatles produced founding Badfinger members: Tom Evans, Mike Gibbins & Joey Molland.
Over the years Badfinger are: Bob Evans (stage name Tony King) on lead vocals, lead guitar & piano. Bob began working with Joey Molland in 1978-79, on his first solo CBS lp (which Joey & Bob Seger’s keyboard player produced. Joey & Bob wrote all 14 songs on the lp, did all vocals & guitar work. )
The album “True Love”, which features the Beatles-like duet (Bob Evans & Joey Molland) “True Love “.
It was at that point that Bob Evans was asked by Badfinger founder members Tom Evans & Mike Gibbins, to join the band. However, Bob’s agent Frank Barcalona from Premier Talent, had him pass at that time.
Frank gave the ok for Bob Evans to join Badfinger, 1980, on lead vocals & guitar. Tom Evans & Mike Gibbins also lived in my Birmingham, Michigan home with Bob.
Bob, Tom, & Mike went to work on the Badfinger lp “Messenger”, writing about 50 songs together for it.
Frank Barcalona the owner of Premiere Talent who was the most respected and most powerful booking agent in the music industry who handled Bob Evans/Tony King career since Tony was 16 years old. Frank also managed Humble Pie, The Who, Led Zepplin, U2, Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd. Bob Evans/Tony King did a deal between Frank Barcalona and Pink Floyd in 1985 without Rodgers Waters as many people did not want to touch Pink Floyd without Rodgers Waters. However a young Bob Evans/Tony King persisted in getting Frank Barcelona to sign Pink Floyd without Rodgers Waters to which Pink Floyd went on to becoming the biggest rock band in world. Bob Evans also got Frank to take over Badfinger’s career when Bob Evans was the lead singer/lead guitar player in Badfinger with Tom Evans and Mike Gibbins.
The band played to sold out crowds nightly. Work continued on “Messenger” as well.
Tom Evans began drinking heavily during this period 1980-82. In May of 1982, just before a showcase in New York, Tom Evans became so drunk he was falling down & became quite ill on stage. Bob Evans left shortly after. Also, Tom’s problems with an ongoing lawsuit about royalties were causing great strain.
The band members: Bob, Tom Evans, Mike Gibbins, also included Steve John, who was in every band Bob had ever played in. Steve also was on the album Joey Molland & Bob did. After hearing the final mixes, that led to the founder members of Badfinger to invite Bob to join the band. With Bob, Tom, Mike & Steve, it was agreed this was the best version of Badfinger since Pete Ham had been with them.
Today, Badfinger is: Bob Evans on lead guitar & vocals & piano; Steve John on guitar & piano; long time band member Kenny Harck, who put the band back together in 1976, is on drums. Kenny played with Tom, Mike, Joey Molland & Beatles/Rolling Stones piano player Nicky Hopkins. (“Airwaves” was supposed to be Badfinger’s come back album.) Kenny arranged & cowrote the title track & Lookout California. He got the band the record deal in 1977 that was to record “Airwaves”.
Kenny Harck was opposed to the heavy drinking done by Joey & Tom, and left before “Airwaves” came out.
The new iteration of Badfinger: Bob Evans, Kenny Harck, Steven John & a new member, Bob’s brother John Evans on bass. John is a very talented musician & is a key player in the tour.
This new Badfinger strives to be the best iteration since Pete Ham was alive & will be doing alot of FM radio hits of theirs, including the 6 million selling hits. “Baby Blue” is of special importance, being the most played song on Spotify, Amazon & Apple. It was used as the closing sequence theme in the hit AMC tv show “Breaking Bad”., introducing Badfinger to a new generation. That is going to bring out the crowds in their 20s & 30s. As well as the core Badfinger fans & even Beatles fans.
When Bob Evans did shows in England in 2023, the crowds were in their 20s & 30s at every show.
Bob Evans (Tony King) also had a book written by wife of David Gilmour, Ginger Gilmour. Ginger is a best selling author, painter & sculptor.
Rounding out our show, we have special guests Jesse Barish (from John Phillips Mamas and The Papas; Marty Balin & Leon Russell; and the Motown superstar Freda Payne.
